ORLANDO, Fla. — A new indoor attraction with up-close animal encounters is coming to Orlando’s International Drive.

Cool Zoo, which operates a wildlife rehabilitation and rescue center in Polk County, is opening a new 10,000-square-foot center that will feature educational exhibits and interactive activities centered around wildlife and conservation.
Visitors will be able to get up-close encounters with animals like sloths, kangaroos, lemurs and alligators. They will also being to engage in hands-on activities like gemstone mining and fossil finding.
“We’re so excited to invite Orlando residents and guests from around the world who share our love of wildlife and conservation to meet our ambassador animals and we hope to spark a love for wildlife conservation in everyone who visits,” Cool Zoo Wildlife Center president Jim DeBerry said in a statement.
Cool Zoo stated its animal encounters meet the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Ambassador Animal Guidelines, which allows the animals to meet the public for short periods of time for conservation and teaching efforts.
The Cool Zoo in Orlando is expected to open in September. General admission will be $15 each (for people over the height of 24 inches). One-on-one animal encounters will range from $10 to $100 per person.
