The resort on Thursday announced Disney Jollywood Nights, a separately-ticketed, after-hours event for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and released details about the return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.
Jollywood Nights, running select nights Nov. 11 through Dec. 20, will include a variety of themed activities, including the return of the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! nighttime spectacular, a jazz lounge at The Hollywood Brown Derby, a Latin street fair on Commissary Lane, and a live holiday special hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy at Theater of the Stars.
"They're going to put on a show that will rival Radio City Music Hall because Kermit the Frog and Miss Miggy are hosting an all-singing, all-dancing holiday show," said Tom Vazzana, creative director for Disney Live Entertainment, at a media event Thursday night.
The show also will feature other characters including Mickey, Minnie, Belle and Tiana.
"There's a live band on stage, there's singers and dancers," Vazzana said. "It's like New York right here in Central Florida."
The Hyperion Theater will host a "spirited" singalong based on "The Nightmare Before Christmas." The show will feature "What's This?," "Kidnap the Sandy Claws," and other tunes. Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie will make an appearance.
Jollywood Nights also will feature a jazz lounge at The Hollywood Brown Derby, a Latin street fair on Commissary Lane, and a soiree in the Hollywood Tower Hotel Courtyard that's inspired by The Tip Top Club.
Different character meet-and-greets will be located throughout the park, including Mickey at Animation Courtyard and Powerline Max at Echo Lake.
And like with other after-hours events, visitors will have access to popular attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which will use virtual queue.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 6. Prices will range from $159 to 179 per person.
Over at Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will run select date nights Nov. 9 through Dec. 22. The lineup will include "Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks," and, of course, access to popular attractions.
Disney also announced “Frozen Holiday Surprise” a new holiday show in front of Cinderella Castle. Elsa, Anna and their friends will take the stage as the castle illuminates in “a whole new way.” The festive entertainment offering will take place during regular park hours and during the Very Merry Christmas Party.
The holiday lineup at Disney World also includes the Candlelight Processional during EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays, the return of the Sunset Seasons Greetings projection show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Merry Menagerie puppets at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs.
