ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration, the nighttime lagoon show at Universal Studios Florida, has ended as the resort works on a new show.

“Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration has ended its run at Universal Studios Florida to make way for a new nighttime show experience that will debut in the future," Universal said in a statement to Spectrum News.

The 20-minute show debuted in 2018 and featured fireworks, water screens and projections. It was divided into segments that highlighted characters and moments from different movie franchises such as “Fast and the Furious,” “Despicable Me,” “Transformers,” “Jurassic World,” and “Harry Potter.”

The show also included projections on the nearby building in the New York and San Francisco areas of the park.

In 2020, when Universal implemented safety measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show was temporarily suspended. It resumed performances in October of that year.

Universal has not shared any details about a new show that will replace Cinematic Celebration.
