ORLANDO, Fla. – Sea Life Orlando Aquarium is now home to a zebra shark named Joy.

Joy comes to the International Drive attraction from the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, where she hatched as part of the Associations of Zoos & Aquariums’ Special Survival Plan.
When Joy arrived at Sea Life she received a health checkup before she was added to the exhibit with the other animals.
Zebra sharks are named for their stripes that line their body when they are young. As they get older, the stripes on the zebra sharks break up into spots.
Sea Life says Joy is only three years old and hasn’t reached her full size yet. Zebra sharks can live up to 28 years.
Visitors to Sea Life can now see Joy and other marine life. The attraction has also added virtual learning opportunities.
