Q: I understand there will be a new roundabout in Clifton Park. Where will it be and when does work begin?

A: The new roundabout in Clifton Park will be at the very busy intersection of Route 146 and Vischer Ferry Road. I have reported many accidents at this intersection over the years, and this roundabout should improve traffic flow and hopefully, make things safer.

NYSDOT says that work will begin Monday, July 22, with lane shifts and traffic pattern changes. Unfortunately, this may cause more slow traffic. So, be aware as you approach the intersection for that traffic change pattern and follow the signs. Most importantly, slow down and watch for construction workers. When finished, this will be a two-lane roundabout.
