  • Senior Avery Jacobs has never lost in the playoffs

  • Jacobs committed to play college soccer at Louisiana Tech

The senior forward has been playing varsity soccer since she was a freshman, and all she knows is success.

Moore has never lost in the playoffs.

“Everything is just a bit more personal, knowing that we have this big target on our back because we won three times,” said Moore. “Me and everyone else just want to win so bad because we know this is our last ride.”

The Hornets are going for their fourth state championship in a row.

If they accomplish the feat, they would on be the sixth team in state history to do so.

But Jacobs says they do not feel the pressure.

“Just being out there is just fun,” she explains. “I find myself smiling and it’s just a good time. We love winning, we love having fun; it’s great.”

Jacobs is playing more free her senior year, and that’s because she knows where she’ll be playing next.

After going a visit to Louisiana Tech last March, Jacobs knew she found her next home.

“The coaches are amazing people, they recruit amazing girls,” said Jacobs. “They made it feel like home and I had only been there for two days. I knew immediately it would be a good fit for me.”

With that weight off her shoulders, Jacobs is chasing history.

Winning a state championship each year of her high school career.
