ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Kissimmee Osceola running back Taevion Swint has joined the University of Central Florida's football's 2025 signing class, he announced Friday in an X post.

That brings the Knights' signing class to 10 players so far, even though the team has been without a head coach since Gus Malzahn resigned on Nov. 30 and later was named Florida State's offensive coordinator. Swint had been a verbal commitment but made the decision official Friday, two days after Early Signing Day. Some media reports indicated he also had been considering FSU and Mississippi.

"This program means a lot to me," Swint said in a statement posted on UCF football's X account. "As soon as I stepped into the facility for the first time, I got this tingly feeling. This is home. I already had that feeling, and I've always had that feeling."

Swint, who also is a sprinter on Osceola's track and field team, ran for about 1,600 yards and scored six combined rushing and receiving touchdowns in 2024 to help lead Osceola into the Class 6A state semifinals.

The four-star recruit said senior running back RJ Harvey, a former Edgewater High standout who this season set UCF's career record for touchdowns scored, "paved the way for me."

So far, the class is heavy on players with Central Florida and Florida ties.

Swint is the third player from Central Florida, joining South Sumter linebacker Malakhi Boone and Cocoa offensive lineman Jaquez Joiner.

Other signees from Florida are wide receivers Waden Charles out of Somerset Academy Canyons, Santonyo "Kozy" Isaac of Tampa Bay Tech and Carl Jenkins Jr. of St. Augustine High; defensive backs Tony Williams of Miami Central and Rukeem Stroud of Tampa Bay Tech; and running back Waymond Jordan Jr., who is from Pensacola but most recently played at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College.
