KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Osceola Magic guard Mac McClung has received the NBA G League Most Valuable Player award for the 2023-24 season, the league announced Friday.

McClung, a 6-foot-2 guard out of Texas Tech, averaged a G League-high 25.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 27 games and scored 30-plus points in eight games this season for Osceola. That led both Osceola and the G League.

He was selected for the MVP award in a vote by the league’s 31 head coaches and general managers.

He helped lead Osceola, the G League affiliate of the NBA's Orlando Magic, to a 22-12 record in the regular season, earning the team the No. 1 seeding in the G League Eastern Conference playoffs. The team is hosting the Long Island Nets in the conference semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday at Silver Spurs Arena in Osceola Heritage Park.

During the season, McClung also won the NBA G League Player of the Month for November and Player of the Week for the period ended March 24. It was the second time in his career that McClung has been named player of the week.

McClung also won the NBA dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend in February. It was the second consecutive year he took on NBA players to capture the trophy in that event.
