ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic will begin Summer League play in Las Vegas at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time on July 8 against the Detroit Pistons, according to the schedule released by the NBA on Friday.

It will mark the first time fans will get the opportunity to see new draft picks Anthony Black and Jett Howard play in a Magic uniform.

The Magic’s Summer League team also will play games at 8:30 p.m. July 10 vs. the Indiana Pacers, at 8 p.m. July 12 against the New York Knicks and at 9 p.m. July 13 with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Summer League features squads from all 30 NBA teams that include most recent draft picks, other young players and free agents who are looking to land on an NBA roster. Each team will play four games from July 7-14 in Las Vegas, and then the top four teams advance to the playoffs. Semifinal games will be played at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 16, and the winners of that game will meet for the championship at 9 p.m. July 17. All of those games will be televised.

The four playoff teams will be determined by winning percentage in each team’s first four games. The 26 teams that do not reach the playoffs will play a fifth game to be determined on either July 15 or July 16.
