ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Guardians made 10 picks in the league’s rookie draft on Friday, and they mostly chose defensive players.
Offseason rosters are being expanded from 51 to 90 players to allow for the increased number of players.
The players they selected, in alphabetical order, are:
- Jeremy Cooper, an offensive lineman out of Cincinnati
- Kosi Eldridge, a linebacker from Texas Tech
- Terry Hampton, a defensive lineman out of Arkansas
- KD Hill, a defensive lineman out of Mississippi
- Jarrett Horst, an offensive lineman from Michigan State
- Darius Joiner, a defensive back out of Duke
- Jacquez Jones, a linebacker from Kentucky
- Keyron Kinsler Jr., a defensive back out of Alcorn State
- Brock Martin, a defensive lineman from Oklahoma State
- LaQuinston Sharp, an offensive lineman out of Mississippi State
XFL teams hold the exclusive rights with the players they select in the draft.
Players who sign an XFL contract, including players still under contract from the 2023 season, have an “NFL out” until Dec. 26, 2023, following the end of Week 16 of the NFL season. Eighteen XFL players have signed NFL contracts, including six who earned All-XFL Team honors.
