ORLANDO, Fla. — The 2023-24 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl will be played on New Year’s Day again this year, Florida Citrus Sports officials confirmed Wednesday.

It will kick off at 1 p.m. at Camping World Stadium and will be broadcast on ABC.

In 2023, the college football game featuring top Southeastern Conference and Big Ten opponents was moved to Jan. 2. Forty-four of the previous 77 Citrus Bowl matchups have been held on New Year's Day. 

The disclosure came as ESPN revealed broadcast dates, times and channels for the 40 bowl games it will broadcast on its multiple platforms and weeks 1-3 of the upcoming college football season.

The other postseason bowl game at Camping World Stadium will get underway at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 28. The former Cheez-It Bowl, now known as the Pop Tarts Bowl, features teams from the Atlantic Coast and Big 12 conferences and airs on ESPN.

Orlando’s third postseason bowl game, the Cure Bowl, will be played at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 16 and will be broadcast on ABC for the first time.

Camping World Stadium also will play host to a matchup between LSU and Florida State at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 during the opening weekend of the season. That game will be televised nationally on ABC.

UCF also revealed the times for its first three games of the 2023 season, its first in the Big 12 Conference. The Knights will take on Kent State at 7 p.m. Aug. 31, visit Boise State at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 in Week 2 and will play host to Villanova at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16. Its first two games will air on FS1, and the Villanova game will be available on ESPN+.

The University of South Florida’s home game against Alabama at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 16 will air on ABC. The Bulls will open their season at Western Kentucky at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 2 on CBS Sports Network. In Week 2, they play host to Florida A&M at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 on ESPN+. Their games at Navy at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and at UConn at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21 will also air on CBS Sports Network. USF will face UTSA on the road at 9 p.m. Nov. 17 on ESPN2.

The Florida Gators kick off their season at 8 p.m. Eastern Time Aug. 31 at Utah on ESPN. They will play host to McNeese State at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 on ESPNU. In Week 3, the Gators will open SEC play at home against Tennessee at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 on ESPN, and in Week 4, they will play host to Charlotte at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 on the SEC Network.

After its opener in Orlando, Florida State will meet Southern Miss at home starting at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9 on the ACC Network. In Week 3, the Seminoles travel to Boston College to play at noon Sept. 16 on ABC.

The Miami Hurricanes also released information on four of their games. They open their season at home at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 against Miami (Ohio) on ACC Network. In Week 2, the Hurricanes play host to Texas A&M at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 9 on ABC. Miami stays at home Sept. 14 for a 7:30 p.m. contest against Bethune-Cookman. On Black Friday, the Hurricanes will play at Boston College at noon.

The Gasparilla Bowl is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 22 at Raymond James Stadium on ESPN.
