ORLANDO, Fla.— Dedication is what Kevin Herr is all about.
“This particular one probably three or four different tries on it to get the chest rig right with everything holding together,” said Kevin Herr, a 35-year-old former UCF student.
The former UCF knight has devoted countless hours all towards making a Mandalorian costume with a UCF twist better known as the “Knightalorian”
“Just this one? Probably over 200 hours worth of real work,” said Herr.
It was an idea that started as a Megacon costume.
“Back in march I was working on some other Mandalorian costume that I was going to wear at megaton in Orlando and at the same time I was like you know what I got season tickets I might as well come up with a get up to wear to the UCF football games,” said Herr.
He came up with everything.
“You want to be able to jump in the bounce house of course so it had to be a lot stronger than just the regular convention model with velcro holding it in place so everything is strapped and screwed on this one,” said Herr.
Showing his loyalty to Knight Nation and most importantly bringing smiles to the masses.
“That’s definitely it right there. Putting the smiles on peoples faces,” said Herr.
Once he’s all suited up it’s time to do just that and within seconds everyone is asking for a picture.
“What it means to me for UCF fans is we are the most passionate fan base around. We are constantly getting doubted or told we aren’t good enough but we all know we are better than that,” said Herr.
