CASSELBERRY, FLA -- It'd take more than a mile-long walk in David Kellam's shoes to understand his journey.

To get the full experience, give his wheelchair, his standing chair or his hand bike a try.

“This stretches out my torso," David says while working out in his standing chair. "My legs. Let’s me do some weight bearing.”

It's part of his decade-long routine with a simple goal in mind; to walk again.

“I’ve only heard about the stories of when it first happened but the one thing that seems pretty consistent is his positivity," David's gilfriend Erika Glenn says. "Sometimes it’s even annoying how positive he is.”

Once a football star in the mid-2000's at Winter Park High School, a motorcylce accident in college left David paralyzed from the mid-section down.

“It was going to be between 1-3 years before anything, any feeling was going to comeback," David said. "Nothing ever did but I did get stronger overtime.”

Still paralyzed, David continues to take steps towwards taking actual steps. He's a workout warrior. His daily routine includes handbike rides and CrossFit training.

“I’m still here," David said. "If I wasn’t here than there’s no reason for me to be here.”

David is currently raising money for an Indego Exoskeleton. It's a device that assists with gait therapy and motion for those with spinal cord injuries.
