ORLANDO, Fla. — The holiday travel rush is continuing on Friday for many people across Central Florida.
AAA projects more than 119 million Americans will travel over the year-end holidays. And AAA ranks Orlando as the number destination during the holidays.

Travel officials say for anyone driving today, the worst time to hit the road is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the best time they say is right before 2:00 p.m.
In their 2024 year-end holiday travel forecast, 107 million Americans are driving as their main mode of transportation, marking this as the most popular way to travel by nearly 90 percent.
Doug Mills lives in The Villages and made the trek to Orlando Friday morning to drop family members off at the airport.
He said he saw a little traffic Friday morning but understands Central Florida traffic can pick up quickly.
“They expected a lot of holiday traffic this morning, but we got them there so early, three hours before they takeoff, it wasn’t bad at all,” Mills said. “It wasn’t crowded or jammed. I don’t know what it was like inside, but everything was fine so far.”
Something else to keep in mind if you’re beginning your trek home today: gas prices are lower than last year.
