While UCF is being represented in the Super Bowl by Bruce Miller (San Francisco) and Jah Reid (Baltimore), the Knights also have a pair of alumni which earned spots on the Pro Bowl rosters this season. UCF ranks in a tie for 13th in the country with the most players earning Pro Bowl recognition.

Former Lake Howell HS and current Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall received a spot in the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his career. Although he will not participate due to an injury, he was the MVP of the Pro Bowl a year ago as a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Marshall started all 16 games with the Bears, and notched at least two catches in every contest. He had four games with double-digit receptions and seven where he produced more than 100 receiving yards. Marshall completed 2012 with 118 catches for 1,508 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 118 receptions ranked second in the NFL, and his 1,508 yards were good for third.

In his fifth season with the Green Bay Packers, offensive guard Josh Sitton also started all 16 games, and has started at least 14 contests every year since 2009. He was the 2010 NFL Offensive Lineman of the Year when he did not allow a sack all season.

This will be Sitton’s first Pro Bowl appearance, and the game is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 27.

Both Marshall and Sitton were fourth-round NFL Draft picks, with Marshall being taken at No. 119 by the Denver Broncos in 2006, and Sitton hearing his name called at No. 135 by the Packers in 2008.
