Continuing its increasingly faster turnaround times for launches, California-based SpaceX on Saturday did its second launch in 24 hours of Starlink satellites.
The company successfully launched 53 satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Friday.
While reusability is key for SpaceX, Saturday’s launch featured a brand new first stage booster for the Falcon 9 rocket.
Conditions were a bit breezy near Port Canaveral but the launch went ahead as planned at 4:40 p.m.
Saturday’s launch was the 20th this year for SpaceX, with 16 happening here in Florida.
Following stage separation, the booster B1073-1 landed on the droneship, Just Read the Instructions. It was the first launch and landing for this particular booster.

SpaceX is targeting launch number 21 for Wednesday, May 18, which will send another batch of Starlinks to orbit.
Meanwhile, NASA, ULA and Boeing are preparing for the important launch of the Starliner spacecraft for its uncrewed flight test to the International Space Station.
