While you're back-to-school shopping, there's an interactive and sporty pit-stop for the kids on your way home.

1. Time is running out to take advantage of free summer bowling. “If he could do this all day, he would,” mom Rachel Carries said with a laugh. She says she brings her son “once or twice a week” to Boardwalk Bowl.

2. Before 5 p.m. on weekdays, three bowling alleys are letting your kiddos — 12 and under — bowl two games for free (with the purchase of shoe rentals).

3. “(Bowling) gives them structure,” said Boardwalk Bowl’s General Manager Ryan Clawson. “It gives them a sport. It gives them something social.”

4. Boardwalk Bowl also has a bunch of new experiences and attractions — like  cornhole, hand ball, a billiards room and a new arcade.

5. In addition to Boardwalk Bowl, Aloma Bowl in Winter Park and Airport Lanes in Sanford are participating. The free bowl offer expires August 9, 2024.
