OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — If you’ve never been on an airboat, then you haven’t seen all of native Florida. An Osceola County attraction is celebrating three decades of unpredictable journeys through the Sunshine State’s wetlands.

Boggy Creek Airboat Adventure on Kissimmee’s East Lake Toho introduces tourists and locals to Florida’s treasured wildlife and wetlands.

During the 30- or 60-minute airboat ride, guests might encounter blue herons, alligators, snakes, endangered creatures, lily pads and more.

Captain David Barnes, who has been with the airboat adventures, said January and February are the best months for gator sightings, but every trip is full of surprises.

Barnes, a former wildlife officer with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, says unaltered Florida is what he knows best.

Tickets for the “Escape to Nature” airboat tour range from $32 to $58. They’re open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
