Here are five things to know about the star-studded Bernie the Dolphin, which had a red-carpet celebration at Epic Theatres in Palm Coast:
1. The cast of the family-friendly movie not only attended Sunday night's premiere, but is also here to shoot the sequel.
2. Patrick Muldoon (Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place) and Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) are among the stars filming in Clearwater/St. Pete and St. Augustine’s Marineland Dolphin Adventure park.
3. Kid actor Logan Allen is from Orlando, telling us, “There's not a lot of movies filmed here anymore, so just being able to film in your home state and an area I've been to plenty of times — Clearwater and in St. Augustine — is incredible."
4. Kevin Sorbo tells us that he and his wife are moving from California to Naples. A film like Bernie, he says, is what his fans want now: "I get stopped all the time and people say, 'Please make more family movies.' Like, I've done a lot — What If, God's Not Dead, Abel's Field — and now, Bernie. Well, people have gotta support them."
5. Bernie the Dolphin is in limited release right now, playing three times daily at the Old Mill Playhouse in The Villages.
