ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Weeks after tornadoes touched down across the region, restoration still needs to be completed at the Creve Coeur Lake Soccer Park Complex, which could cost several millions of dollars.

That’s according to St. Louis County Execute Sam Page, who said all 13 soccer fields were damaged, including the turf, goals and lights.

With a large number of games and practices that take place there, Page said it is important to get the fields back up and running as soon as possible.

“Tens of thousands of hours of soccer (happen) there every year, and 28 weekends of tournaments on those fields. We got to get those up and going again. That’s a lot of activity, a lot of economic activity in the region,” Page said on Tuesday during a press conference about an update on the debris at Spanish Lake Park.

In north Saint Louis County, numerous piles of tree limbs and debris are gathered at Spanish Lake Park.

The downed trees were caused by the March 14 tornadoes. Page announced that the trees and debris will turn into mulch for the community.
