MELBOURNE, Fla. — A national touring Broadway production of "Annie" is making a two-day stop at the King Center in Melbourne at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30.
The musical has been touring for 45 years, reminding everyone that, "The sun will come out — tomorrow." The original Broadway production won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
This touring production has 63 people, including the crew, tutors, costume specialists, actors and two dogs.
“Who doesn’t love Sandy (Annie's dog)?” said Brig Johnson, the production stage manager. “Sandy gets the biggest reactions, probably more than Annie sometimes!”
The crew unloaded four trucks, meticulously installing the trusses, lights and backdrops, and costume specialists steamed 200 pieces of wardrobe.
