Per Brevard Public Schools, Roosevelt Elementary principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan is now on administrative leave and is being replaced by Dr. Jennifer Clarke, the district's director of school leadership.

When officers arrived at Hill-Brodigan’s home, they say Roosevelt Elementary teacher Karly Anderson approached officers intoxicated and identified herself.

Investigators say one juvenile was found on the front lawn having an alcohol-related medical episode.

They noted that paramedics had to treat the child using their own lighting due to Hill-Brodigan turning off her home’s outdoor lights.

Kimberly Bound, whose grandson is a kindergartener at Roosevelt, said she is in shock over the incident.

“I’m really not sure how to feel about it," Bound said. "I had kids go to Cocoa Beach High School as well. I mean, you have to make right decisions, especially with kids, it’s a really bad choice of decisions."

Hill-Brodigan has been charged with child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and holding an "open house party."

Anderson is charged with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell released the following statement to parents in a letter:

“We hold our leaders to the highest of standards, and if these allegations are true, it’s a complete failure in leadership and violation of our trust. The district is cooperating fully with police as they investigate this matter and will strive to provide families with full transparency.”

Hill-Brodigan is a former Brevard Public Schools teacher of the year who has taught kindergarten and served as assistant principal at Ocean Breeze Elementary in Indian Harbour Beach and Oak Park Elementary in Titusville.

Both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson have been released on bond.
