TITUSVILLE, Fla. — With temperatures dropping across Central Florida, cold weather shelters are opening to help keep people safe.
They’re helping those who don’t have reliable heat in their homes, or a home at all.
Lifepointe Ministries has set up an inclement weather shelter at the Titusville Civic Center, providing a warm place for those in need to escape the cold.
The shelter opened Friday night and will close at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, but will reopen Saturday night at 5 p.m. The shelter will close again at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Hot meals are provided to all who stay, including dinner and breakfast.
Pets are also welcome, but they must be crated and will be housed in a separate building.
Those who help run the shelter are asking for volunteers and donations to keep the facility operating.
The donations are tax deductible. Visit Lifepointe Ministries’ website for additional information.
