SANFORD, Fla. — News Year's is right around the corner and some might be searching for a fun and unique way to celebrate the holiday.

What You Need To Know

  • For more than five years, Limo Cycle has been taking party goers down the streets of Sanford to have a good time
  • The open aired limo allows guests to sit on stools and drink and cruise the downtown streets
  • Depending on the tour, the driver will stop at various locations where riders can get off and go to bars, stores or other destinations
  • The Limo Cycle has built-in pedals where guests pedal with their feet to make the vehicle roll forward

For more than five years, the Limo Cycle in Seminole County has been taking guests for a one-of-a-kind ride while socializing with friends.

Limo Cycle driver and host Victoria Illigworth says the experience is for everyone.

“You get to have a great night or day out with your friends, family or whoever — your co-workers,” said Illigworth, who has been doing tours for the past two years.

The vehicle has been described as a celebration machine on wheels where guests come to cut loose while on the move.

“You get on the limo cycle, you get to see Sanford,” said Illigworth.

The tour guide said it’s a fun tour where you get to stretch your legs along the way at area bars, shops and other tourist stops.

“You’re on the bike for about 50% and off the bike for about 50%," she said. "It’s great if you are trying to meet up with friends. We get a lot of work parties."

The company does not provide or serve alcohol, but riders can bring their own spirits if they desire.

Avery Barnes, who was out celebrating her 21st birthday with friends, decided to book a tour on Limo Cycle on a Tuesday night to ride and go bar hopping along the way.

“I’m never going to look forward to another birthday quite like this one," she said. "So I had to do it right on the Limo Cycle."

The birthday girl had a life-changing reason for choosing this mode of transportation to celebrate.

“Back in 2020, I was hit by a drunk driver. I was walking, and I feel like this incorporates safe driving," she said. "And we are also having fun on my 21st, so I feel this is a great compromise to have fun and go all around Sanford.”

Limo Cycle owner Rob Paul says the vehicle is unique and its part bicycle for every rider.

“If you pedal forward, you will move the cycle," Paul said, sitting on one of the vehicle's stools. "Each one of these pedal stations is connected to a drive shaft that runs the entire length of the cycle."

And Paul said there’s something for those feeling lazy, or groups that don’t have much energy along the tour.

“There’s a little secret I’m going to let you in on," he said. "Right under here, there are a few batteries. If you are feeling unmotivated, we can assist you with the power."

Limo Cycle costs $40.00 dollars per rider.
