Randy is proud to join the Spectrum News 13 team. He has been in Florida for over 20 years, reporting stories from around the sunshine state.
Randy reports daily on a variety of topics including the stations popular Florida on a Tankful segment. He enjoys uncovering places around the state that everyone can go and enjoy themselves.
Before he was a reporter, Randy worked as a weather forecaster/reporter at WTSP-TV in Tampa. He reported live and forecasted weather during four different hurricanes within one long hurricane season. He also developed a weekly segment titled "Wildside," where he took viewers around Tampa Bay to unique destinations. His favorite story was tracking pythons in the Everglades.
Prior to that, Randy forecasted weather in a dry, hot, windy, and sometimes – believe it or not – cold climate. In Vegas, Randy created the first "celebrity weather reports," setting up weather stations at celebrity homes throughout the valley.
He is also proud of his time at American Broadcast Talent. Here he worked directly with on-air talent wishing to enter the television industry. Randy has helped hundreds of reporters, anchors, meteorologists, and sportscasters land their first job in the news business, many of whom are now working at the network level. Randy still dedicates time to helping young talent get into the news business.
Randy enjoys traveling in his free time. Some of his favorite trips include Ecuador, Iceland, Africa, Spain, and Portugal. His favorite journey was traveling to Rwanda to trek and see the mountain gorillas.
