DELTONA, Fla. — A deputy with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office accidentally shot themselves in the leg Saturday, according to a social media post from the sheriff's office.

The incident happened at the Walmart located at 101 Howland Blvd. in Deltona.

According to the sheriff's office, fellow deputies on the scene quickly helped the injured deputy until emergency medical services arrived.

Authorities have not released additional details about the incident, but the deputy is expected to recover.

"(We're) glad she's OK and wishing her a full and speedy recovery," said the social media post.
