ORLANDO, Fla. — Some passengers traveling to Orlando International Airport (MCO) on Friday night were met with some major delays.
Officials with the airport said a drainage issue caused delays from some international flights coming into Terminal B. This comes as we’re now more than halfway into the holiday travel period at MCO.
Projections for this year called for more than 1.9 million passengers to pass through the airport during the 12-day period.
While some travelers had a smooth experience, others did not.
“I’m wondering if there was any better way of thinking this, why they can’t just get to another terminal or something? People are just waiting,” said Salih Tuzen, who was waiting for a passenger. “They’ve been on the flight like 11 hours, so now they’re waiting an additional 2 hours inside the plane.”
In an advisory posted on its Facebook page, the airport says it “apologises for the inconvenience” and “appreciated your cooperation as our facilities team works to resolve this matter.”
