PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — The Disney Treasure, the sixth ship in the company’s cruise fleet, arrived at its new home in Port Canaveral just before sunrise Tuesday.
The arrival comes two days after the Treasure’s crew rescued four people stranded on a disabled catamaran that was drifting in the Atlantic Ocean about 265 miles off Bermuda. The ship responded to a distressed vessel call Sunday morning.
The Treasure is set to embark on its maiden voyage out of the port Dec. 21.
Disney announced the Treasure’s name and adventure theme at D23 in 2022. The 144,000-gross-ton ship has 1,256 staterooms, and during the Treasure’s inaugural season, its itinerary will be seven-night voyages to the eastern and western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.
The ship features adventure and exploration themes in its decor, entertainment and dining, with nods to Disney stories and attractions like “Aladdin,” “Zootopia,” “Coco,” 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Jungle Cruise.
