DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach city leaders are offering disaster relief grants to people impacted by Hurricane Milton.

At a community event on Monday, they discussed eligibility and applications with interested homeowners, renters or business owners.
In all, the city will use $1.5 million in federal funds provided under the American Rescue Plan Act to fund those grants, worth up to $9,000 each.
The money can be used to cover insurance deductibles, home repairs, tree or debris removal, and temporary relocation costs.
Additionally, businesses with less than 50 employees can receive up to $5,000 for the cost of lost revenue, spoiled food, insurance deductibles and repairs.
Applications and proof of eligibility will be accepted at the Dickerson Community Center.
Applicants must show proof of application for FEMA assistance, as well as property insurance, if applicable. For homeowners and renters, household annual income cannot exceed the Area Median Income for their household size.
Grants will be made available on a first come, first served basis until all funds are depleted.
Staff will be available at the center on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., as well as Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
