CENTRAL FLORIDA — With tropical storm force winds extending 345 miles, Central Florida has seen storm damage from powerful winds rocking the area from Hurricane Helene.
Just west of I-95 in Palm Coast, a tree toppled over on to Derrick Taylor's house and crushed a truck.
No one was hurt, but the tree fell through the roof and into the family's living room, requiring the Taylors to turn off power to house to prevent a fire.
They expect to have an emergency insurance inspection on Friday.
In Ocala, another tree crashed into a home, displacing seven residents. The Red Cross and the unit's owners are working to provide families with resources.
