OCOEE, Fla. — Officers at Ocoee High School say a 14-year-old student was allegedly found on school property Thursday with the lower half of a gun, an extended magazine, and other contraband, after receiving a tip.

The tip came to officers around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, shortly after classes began. Investigators say the student was located a short time later and when his backpack was searched, the items were allegedly found inside.

Police say no students were injured during the incident.

Investigators with the Ocoee Police Department said they were still searching for the other half of the gun.

The student is facing charges of carrying a concealed firearm inside an educational institution and interrupting or disturbing a school function with a credible threat.

Spectrum News is not publishing the name of the student allegedly involved due to his age and because he is being charged as a juvenile.

No other information on the incident was immediately released.
