The community is preparing in more ways than one, and residents say it’s all hands-on deck to ensure the kids have a special day.

At Party People Events, Ginger Stegmayer was creating something she hoped would be truly special: a balloon arch that will be displayed in Lake Mary.

“I’m actually getting to use my talents and my skills to create beautiful things that make people happy and make events special," she said. "And that means a lot to me."

Stegmayer is dedicated to her craft and said she has high hopes that she can deliver a product the Lake Mary community can be proud of.

The hometown heroes have inspired many people in the community, and Stegmayer said she wants Lake Mary to knock Saturday's celebration out of the park.

“It took such dedication, commitment, hard work to get to where you are," Stegmayer said of the team. "It is such an accomplishment. Lake Mary is so proud of you."

The balloons will be featured in the heart of Lake Mary as celebrations get underway Saturday at 10 a.m.
