ORLANDO, Fla. — A+ Teacher Jenny Henley was nominated for being dedicated and committed to all of her Princeton House Charter School students.

What You Need To Know

Her students call her Ms. Jenny, and she is all in for her student’s success.

“To see them out in public with their families and to come running up to me — it really warms my heart. It makes me so happy,” she said.

Learning can be a sweet endeavor in her class. She makes it a point to create unique ways to teach her second and third graders at Princeton House in Orlando.

“I try to make this environment very safe and very welcoming. These students require a lot of support and a lot of love, so I try to make sure that we’re bringing that every single day,” she said.

She says her students depend on that support.

“They look to us for support, not only in academics but in independence, self-help and how they interact with each other,” she explained.

Teaching was not Henley’s first career choice. She considered becoming a pediatrician but said that journey was not for her.

“I started working here just to gain some experience, and I wasn’t a teacher. I was an assistant. So, I worked alongside a teacher. I gained experience and quickly, I would say within the first three months, I was like, ‘this is where I’m supposed to be.’ I fell in love with it. I really did.”
