TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Off the beaten path in Titusville, a hidden art community welcomes artists of all skill levels.

In the Dog House Art Studio is a collection of small indoor/outdoor buildings where guests can learn painting, stained glass and sculpture.

 Maxine Trainer, the owner and creator of the open-air studio, says she believes she has created a peaceful place to learn and have fun.

"It’s a very creative space," Trainer says. "It’s calm, relaxed — it’s chilled.”

Guests can use the outdoor space to work on their own artistic creations.

Part of the property includes a studio holding the works that Trainer has created over her 50-year career, including five current collections.

“We want people to come in and feel comfortable," Trainer says. "They can explore and find themselves. And they can go out of here with a nice recharging of life.”

On the property is a tiny art village recently constructed for guests to stay overnight and create their art. Each tiny home (one only 70 square feet) is crafted from recycled materials, offering visitors a fun and artistic vibe in a lush tropical setting.

The homes are equipped with a bed, small kitchen and everything needed to try out your artistic skills.

“People can stay for the weekend in the tiny houses, come in and have a great time," Trainer says. "Paint, create, read, do nothing. But I want them to walk out of here with something they did not walk in here with."

For those looking to expand, or even begin to develop, their artistic skills, In the Dog House Art Studio offers a variety of individual classes and packages for new and experienced arts to explore. Painting classes cost $55, and stained glass sessions are $75, with supplies provided.
