Deputies say the carjacking happened at the intersection of East Lake Drive and Tuskawilla Road in Winter Springs just after 5:30 p.m.

According to the report released Thursday, when deputies arrived at the intersection, a witness showed them a video recording of the suspected carjacking that showed a green Acura car stop behind a white Dodge Durango. A man wearing a mask and holding what appeared to be a rifle then got out of the Acura and approached the Durango.

"The subject pointed the rifle at the front window to which the driver side door opened," the report said. "The subject then leaned into the vehicle for a few moments, and then ... the subject is seen entering the vehicle on the rear driver side while still holding the rifle."

A second witness told deputies that they were driving east on East Lake Driver near Bird Road when they saw what they believed to be a "road rage incident in which the white Dodge Durango was trying to get away."

The witness described a similar interaction between the driver of the green Acura — who she said was "a tall, possibly Hispanic male wearing all black clothing and wearing a mask" — and the Dodge Durango at the intersection.

Once the man from the green Acura entered the Dodge Durango, the witness said the two vehicles made a U-turn to head west on East Lake Drive.

A third witness told authorities that before the two vehicles stopped at the intersection, they initially saw “someone stick their hand out of the Acura and wave to the occupants of the Dodge, in what appeared to be a friendly manner." That quickly changed, though, as the witness said the vehicles then sped up and it appeared "that the Acura was trying to hit the Dodge and push them into the curb."

The witness described the same rifle-carrying masked man getting out of the Acura when the two vehicles stopped at the intersection.

Investigators have not yet released any information on possible suspects in the case, but the incident report indicated they could face charges of kidnapping, premeditated murder while engaged in kidnapping and armed carjacking.
