SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — A “written bomb threat” has prompted the evacuation of Wildwood Elementary School in Sumter County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials said the school has been evacuated out of precaution while investigators search the campus.

Students and staff were evacuated to the nearby First Baptist Church.

Parents who are picking up their children are advised to go to the church. The sheriff’s office asks that you do not walk up to the school at this time.

The school is still being searched, and the investigation is ongoing.
