Disney100: The Exhibition, opening to the public Saturday, will feature props, costumes and other memorabilia from the Walt Disney Archives. It will also feature a “lifelike” digital projection of Walt Disney.

The digital Walt appears at the entrance of the exhibit, greeting visitors as they arrive. Good Morning America shared a preview of the exhibit Wednesday, including a first look at the holographic Walt.

“There’s a lot of satisfaction in developing ideas into reality,” says digital Walt in the video. “When we consider a new project, we really study it — not just the surface idea, but everything about it.”

The image was created using archival footage of Walt and artificial intelligence software.

“Tapping the vast resources of the Walt Disney Archives, two separate audio recordings of Walt were assembled, creating his vocal script,” Disney said in a news release. “The Disney Archives also provided footage of 1960s-era Walt to DisneyResearch Studios, who used their super-resolution A.I. upscaled to convert the archival footage to high definition.”

Other items on display across the 15,000-square-foot exhibit are ride vehicles from attractions such as Peter Pan’s Flight and Matterhorn Bobsleds, early sketches of Mickey Mouse and a recreation of Main Street, U.S.A.

“The Walt Disney Archives spent years planning and curating more than 250 objects to capture the 100 years of storytelling, creativity, and unparalleled magic of The Walt Disney Company,” Walt Disney Archives director Becky Cline said in a statement. “We cannot wait for fans and families to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event celebrating the iconic characters and stories that have captured the hearts of audiences around the globe.”
