The pricing model for Genie+ has switched to variable pricing, the resort announced Tuesday. Prices for the service will vary depending on the date — a system similar to what Disney World uses for its theme park tickets.
When Genie+ launched last fall, the service was priced at $15 per person per day (plus tax). With the change, which takes effect Tuesday, prices will range between $15 per person per day plus tax (on less busy dates) and $22 per person per day plus tax (on some of the busiest dates such as weekends).

The pricing cited above is for October. Disney didn't share what pricing would be beyond this month.
Genie+, which replaced FastPass+, allows visitors to access the Lightning Lane queue at select attractions at four theme parks.
The service can only be purchased day-of in the My Disney Experience mobile app. Disney says pricing for the specific date will be available in the app, and visitors are encouraged to check there for the most up-to-date pricing.
This is the latest update for Genie+. In August, Disney announced that several popular attractions, including Frozen Ever After, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway and Expedition Everest would remain part of the service until further notice. Previously, those attractions were part of the Individual Lightning Lane purchase option.
Demand for Genie+ remains high among park visitors, according to Disney. Purchases of the service have contributed in part to the increased guest spending the company has cited in its quarterly earnings reports.
