ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s been more than a month since Goff’s Drive-In ice cream shop was intentionally set on fire.

Orlando Police are still investigating who started that fire.

Todd Peacock, the owner, says he is hopeful he can reopen sometime next month. Even after seeing the video released by the Orlando Fire Department showing the suspect, Peacock says he has no idea who it could be.

The 300 square ft. ice cream shop has been around since the 40s and owned by Peacock's family since the early 70s. He describes what it was like seeing someone set his shop on fire.

“Heartbreaking,” Peacock says. “It was hard.”

As for the suspect seen on surveillance video, Peacock admits he can’t identify him.

“I’m pissed,” Peacock begins. “I would love to know who did it. I mean why, just tell me why? What did somebody do to you?”

Walls with smoke stains, missing dry wall, and a melted air conditioning unit can and will be replaced. The shop’s most important piece of equipment, their ice cream maker, still hasn’t been able to be tested just yet.

“I’ve got a quote on a new one they are telling me that if that didn’t survive it is 30 weeks to get a new one,” Peacock says in front of his ice cream maker. “So I am just hoping and praying that it is still good.”

The ice cream shop is in the process of being put back together again, but this owner just wants some answers before he reopens.

“I don’t know them, I don’t know who it is, I would love to,” Peacock says.

Orlando Police are continuing to look for leads as to who the arsonist is that did this.

The shop is also trying to help the investigation as well, posting a message on some wood bordering the shop with Peacock’s email address and the phone number to OPD.
