PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Starting the engine and hearing that familiar hum is sweet music to Jim Dagey's ears, especially since he's out racing through the Everglades on a daily basis.
Dagey owns and operates Swamp Monster Airboat Tours, a business venture he first got up and running with his family when they moved from Indiana down to Florida four years ago.

“I just love the outdoors and this is really the only place in Florida where you can get away from everything. No noise, no light pollution, and it really is a unique ecosystem all to itself," he said.
However his love of the outdoors started long before he moved here to Florida. Growing up in Indiana he has fond memories of fishing, boating, and camping with his late father who first got him interested in the great outdoors.
Now he's taken all of that knowledge of nature and expanded it into the air boat tour business.
Taking guests out on his fleet of airboats you'll cruise through the Everglades checking out the abundance of nature and learning facts about this unique ecosystem from a true gladesman.
The Florida Everglades is made up of 1.5 million acres of coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes, and pine wood flats.
With all of this open space the everglades are home to hundreds of animal species and on these tours Jim does his best to point tons of them out, especially the gators, he has a keen eye for finding them.
But at the end of the day for Jim it's all about sharing his love of nature with his guests and helping to preserve the natural beauty of the area while still showing off this incredible ecosystem.
“It's just really cool to be able to come out and share information with people so they can enjoy the everglades too."
