It's messy, it's ooey and even gooey. And the coolest thing is that you're not cleaning it up. Get ready for Orlando Science Center's Mess Fest 2022.
Mess Fest is taking place this weekend at the Orlando Science Center. Alyssa Flores is one of the experts of mess. “What better way to make science fun than to have a big ol' mess?” she said while prepping for an experiment.
During a sneak peek of this weekend's event, Flores brought Spectrum News outside to shoot things in the air, like the classic Diet Coke and Mentos rockets. Kids will learn about the physical (not chemical) reaction taking place.
Another show-stopping Mess Fest experiment is the foam explosion. Staff will combine liquid nitrogen to hot soapy water. “Liquid Nitrogen boils at -322 degrees F,” Flores said. “So it can get pretty dangerous and you can actually burn yourself on it, which we don't want.”
Other interactive experiments during Mess Fest include slime time, fizzy paint, and other colorful and sensory-friendly experiments.
Mess Fest is this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orlando Science Center. The activities are included with regular admission.
