FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — The Flagler County Sheriff's Office early Monday cleared concerns over a bomb threat at the Flagler Beach Pier and boardwalk area and indicated there was no threat to the community.

An unknown person had called in a bomb threat on Sunday, saying there were six pipe bombs at the end of the Flagler Beach Pier and said he had a handgun, according to the Flagler Beach Police Department.

The Flagler Beach Police, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, the St. John's County Sheriff's Office and the Flagler Sheriff's K-9 team responded to the incident, checking the entire pier and property left by those who were evacuated from the pier, Flagler police said. No items found were determined to be life-threatening, authorities said.

“We sincerely appreciate the tremendous support provided last night and early this morning by our law enforcement partners at the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office," Flagler Beach Police Chief Matt Doughney said. "The timely response, dedication and willingness of deputies from these agencies to assist our department and our community was absolutely stellar.”
