Applicants can access the portal and submit new applications for mortgage aid through the close of the program, Seminole officials said.

To be eligible, homeowners must have low to moderate incomes and to have faced financial hardships because of the COVID-19 pandemic. More specific details are available on Seminole County’s website.

The program has provided 62 households a total of $820,000 in assistance so far. The program is being shut down because demand for assistance from eligible applicants has been low, Seminole officials said.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funded the program, and monies remaining in the program after it is shut down will be reallocated to meet community needs, Seminole officials said.
