To Ayla Pritchard, taking care of dogs has always been her and her family’s dream job.

So when her family saw the tornado damage of Paddock Place in Ocala, they knew they needed to step in.

"My husband was just like, 'We have all the room that they need. Let's just bring them over here.' He calls me and says 'Hey babe, we’re bringing in 48 dogs'. And I’m like, 'Oh my gosh,'" said Ayla Pritchard, co-owner of Dog Walkers Ranch.

From there, she says it was go-time. But they weren’t alone.

An entire community of pet lovers and professionals came out to help Paddock Place.

"There were so many veterinarians and other boarding facilities and the community that just came out to help to get everybody moved in. It was the smoothest process I’ve ever seen," said Pritchard.

Back at Paddock Place, the practice manager, Vicki Bennett, is overjoyed with the amount support she’s gotten in the past few days.

"The people who showed up to help, that was so heartwarming because they just came from everywhere," said Bennett.

Dog Walker’s Ranch is letting Paddock Place work out of their facility until they’re up and running. It’s something Pritchard told Spectrum News 13 they’d do again because it’s that important to the community.

"When you know something traumatic like that happens, you just want to be able to do whatever you can to help them," said Pritchard.
