WINTER PARK, Fla. — Winter Park police are investigating an incident that left two officers injured and a suspect dead Saturday evening.

According to police, a suspect at a wedding reception attacked officers and was shot by another officer. That suspect later died at an area hospital.

Officials said authorities were called to the Winter Park Events Center on west Morse Boulevard just after 9:30 p.m. about a man attacking guests at a wedding reception.

Upon the officers’ arrival, the suspect began fighting with them and knocked one officer unconscious. The second officer then shot the suspect.

Both officers are expected to recover.

Not further information has been released.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
