  • The Daytona 500 takes place Sunday, February 20

  • Reserved grandstand seating and RV camping tickets are sold out

The speedway announced Wednesday that reserved grandstand seating and RV camping tickets have completely sold out. While the speedway made the decision last year to keep the event at about one-third of the usual capacity, this year things are returning to normal. The president of the speedway says these ticket sales are historic.

“I’ve been asking a lot of people in this building as well as in the garage, do they remember the last time that we sold the Daytona 500 out over a month in advance and no one can really remember a moment in time where it was done. I am sure it has been done, but it is just not top of mind for anyone, so for our industry as a whole this is a huge, huge day and there is a lot to celebrate,” said Frank Kelleher, President of the Daytona International Speedway.

The speedway’s president said they are keeping an eye on omicron and will change things if they need to. He said despite those tickets selling out, fans can still purchase fan zone access or hospitality packages. Speedweeks kicks off on Tuesday, February 15 ahead of the Daytona 500 on the 20th.
