VIERA, Fla. — The man convicted of killing a Brevard Sheriff's deputy in 2012 was sentenced to life in prison without parole Friday.

Deputy Barbara Pill was gunned down in Melbourne during a traffic stop on March 6, 2012.
Brandon Bradley, now 31 years old, was convicted in her murder. A jury recommended Bradley be put to death with a 10-2 vote back in June 2014.
Recent rulings by Florida's Supreme Court and changes to the death penalty statute by the state legislature calls for unanimous decisions by juries in these cases. It meant requiring Bradley's death penalty sentencing phase to be re-tried, or allow his life in prison sentence to stand.
Pill family members indicated they didn't want to re-live her death again in court.
