ORLANDO, Fla. — Aquatica Orlando, SeaWorld's water park, will open its newest attraction, Riptide Race, on April 3.
What You Need To Know
- Riptide Race to open on April 3
- Riders will race through nearly 650 feets of slide
- SeaWorld is touting it as Florida's first dueling racer
- The ride will have a height requirement of 42 inches
The dueling water slide attraction will feature tight loops that riders, racing side-by-side, will navigate through.
Starting from a 68-foot tower, riders will board rafts that can hold up to two people and race through nearly 650 feet of slide. The attraction will have sections that are both indoors and outdoors.
The attraction will have a height requirement of 42 inches.
Pass members will get early access to the attraction on April 1 and 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to SeaWorld.
Riptide Race, which SeaWorld is touting as Florida's first dueling racer, was initially scheduled to debut in 2020 but SeaWorld pushed back the openings of many of its attractions because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Riptide Race is the perfect addition to our attraction portfolio, complementing what is already one of the most family-friendly waterslide lineups in Orlando,” park president Kyle Miller said in a statement. “Health and safety continue to be a top priority for our parks, and we can’t wait to see our guests enjoy this new ride.”
Since reopening last summer, Aquatica has had a number of health and safety measures in place, including temperature checks, face mask requirements, and capacity limits. Visitors will also need to make a park reservation.
