SANFORD, Fla. — Seminole County authorities are looking for a shooter or shooters they say killed a Sanford couple in late December after they confirmed that the body they found Tuesday was Tiffany Church.
What You Need To Know
- Body discovered in Sanford identified as mother Tiffany Church, 35
- The body of her boyfriend, Trodarius Rainey, was found Saturday
- The bodies of the Sanford couple were in different locations
- A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest
The couple most likely knew their killer, Seminole County Sheriff’s Department officials said. Investigators do have people of interest, but Sheriff Dennis Lemma did not call those people suspects.
The body of Church, a 35-year-old mother, was discovered by railroad tracks in Sanford.
“It appears that she had maybe been left there, and that does not appear to be the crime scene of the murder,” Lemma said.
Church and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Trodarius Rainey, were last seen late December 30. The rental vehicle they were in was found in east Sanford the next day with at least one bullet hole in it.
Lemma did not indicate where the shooting happened. The bodies were found in different areas. A man walking his dog found Rainey’s body in Lake Jesup Park on Saturday.
“Both victims were shot,” Lemma said. “Trodarius was shot multiple times. Tiffany appears to be shot one time.”
Lemma said it will take more time to put together all the pieces to find a suspect or suspects.
“We will work to ensure that the families of these victims find closure, and that the person, or people, responsible for this are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” Lemma said.
Lemma encouraged anyone with information that could lead to the suspects to contact the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who provides credible information could receive a $5,000 reward.
