KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee is bringing back its Pirate and Princess Weekends event with a few new additions.

The family-friendly event kicks off January 8 and will run on weekend dates through March 7.

Visitors will get to experience the story of The Captain and his crew of pirates who plundered the Florida Coast in search of The Princess’s treasure. And now, the notorious crew have made Gaylord Palms their outpost.

“Guests will get to embark on their own adventure as they choose to take the pirate oath or become an honorary princess or prince for the day,” the release from Gaylord Palms said.

The event will include a number of activities that take place inside the resort’s atriums as well as outside at Cypress Springs Water Park.

Some activities include a Pirate Pool Party at the resort’s Cypress Springs Water Park, the interactive Princess Academy show, a nighttime Pirate & Princess Light Display in the resort’s St. Augustine Atrium and The Princess’s Shiny Stash Treasure Hunt.

A new addition to the event will be Pirate Outpost Invasion, an interactive show about swashbuckling pirates who “could invade at any time.” Also new is the Pirate Speakeasy, which will feature relics from treasure hunts as well as craft cocktails.

Gaylord Palms is following Marriott’s Commitment to Clean program, so all activities will adhere to enhanced health and safety protocols.
